The name is a tribute to Jack's Yemini friend, Mahmoud, who Jack worked with in Aden.

Our history

The shop first opened for business on 13th December 1966, with just two staff, Jack's daughter, Pamela Needham (now Chairman), and Arch Sears as timber shop manager.

Mahjacks is a family business, founded by Jack Edwards. Pam's husband, Michael, joined the company in 1971, followed by her sister, Jackie, in 1976, so it is a real family affair. Prakash, The Manager, joined the firm in 1976, transferring to Windsor in 1982/83.
